Influencer Sara Buckley Announces Divorce with Humor and Grace
Influencer Sara Buckley, known on Instagram as @NotTheWorstMom, has announced her divorce from her husband of 21 years, Sterling Buckley. The couple, who met as teenagers and share three adult children, revealed the news in a humorous video posted on March 10, 2024. Buckley addressed the situation with her characteristic wit, stating that moving halfway across the country was “not on my f–kin’ vision board.”
In the video, which has garnered over 348,000 views, Buckley shared her plans to relocate from Las Vegas to Oklahoma City to embark on a new chapter in her life. She humorously dubbed her journey “divorcecore” while planting flowers in her garden, a metaphor for starting anew. “Blah blah blah some sappy s–t about uprooting your life and blooming somewhere else,” she quipped, encouraging her followers to embrace change with humor.
Despite the challenging circumstances, Buckley maintained a positive outlook. She commented on the “too good” lighting for filming and noted her fabulous hair, stating, “Anywho, still getting yoked while being hot and funny.”
Buckley’s followers responded warmly, with many offering support and asking how they should react to the news. One follower playfully inquired, “What are we doing? Are we mad at him? Do we unfollow him?”
In a follow-up video, Buckley urged her audience to refrain from criticizing Sterling. “Pump the Sterling hate breaks, OK? You didn’t see me say anything bad about him,” she reassured her followers. She emphasized that despite their divorce, she continues to support him, stating, “Just bc we’re divorcing doesn’t mean I don’t have his back. It’s still the 5 of us vs everyone.”
Sterling Buckley also addressed the situation on social media, focusing on mental health. In a video shortly after Sara’s announcement, he encouraged his followers to prioritize their mental well-being. “Going through a depression is not shameful, you’re not alone,” he stated, expressing gratitude for the support he has received since the announcement.
Sterling revealed that after posting about the divorce on his Instagram Stories, he received over 50 messages from followers checking in on him. “It has been so encouraging and has made me feel so loved,” he shared, highlighting the importance of community support during difficult times.
The couple’s approach to their divorce has resonated with many, showcasing a balance of humor and respect amidst a life-altering transition. As Sara prepares for her move and new beginnings, she remains committed to maintaining a positive family dynamic, emphasizing the shared bond among their children and themselves.
