Anthropic Plans $10 Billion Funding Round to Boost Valuation
Anthropic is poised to raise $10 billion in a new funding round that could elevate the company’s valuation to $350 billion prior to this investment. According to a report by The Wall Street Journal, the financing will be spearheaded by Singapore-based sovereign-wealth fund GIC and Coatue Management. This funding round is expected to be completed within the next few weeks, although the total amount may be subject to change.
The anticipated funding would add to the approximately $15 billion investment that Nvidia and Microsoft announced in November 2025. This deal requires Anthropic to allocate at least $30 billion for compute capacity through the Microsoft Azure cloud platform, which is powered by Nvidia’s specialized AI systems. The strategic partnerships highlight the increasing demand for advanced AI technologies across various sectors.
In September, Anthropic successfully secured $13 billion in funding, which resulted in a valuation of $183 billion. Significant investors in the company include tech giants such as Google (the parent company of Alphabet Inc.) and Amazon.
Founded in 2021 by former executives from OpenAI, Anthropic launched its AI assistant, Claude, in 2023. This product aims to compete directly with OpenAI’s popular ChatGPT, reflecting the ongoing rivalry in the rapidly evolving AI landscape. As the company prepares for a public listing later this year, it anticipates reaching a break-even point for the first time by 2028.
With the influx of new capital, Anthropic is positioning itself to enhance its technological capabilities and expand its market presence, solidifying its status as a key player in the AI industry.
