Seniors Discover Hidden Treasures at Ulster County Event
On November 14, 2023, seniors in the Town of Ulster will have the opportunity to uncover the value of their cherished possessions during a special event hosted by the Ulster County Office for the Aging. The “Hidden Treasures” Lunch and Learn event will take place from noon to 14:00 at the Ulster County Senior HUB located at 5 Development Court.
The event will feature appraisals conducted by Walter Marquez of the Antiques Barn at Water Street Market in New Paltz. Participants are encouraged to bring one item or a photograph of an item for a verbal appraisal. It is important to note that the program will not be responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to personal items.
Event Details and Registration
This program is free for Ulster County residents aged 60 and older, and attendees will also enjoy a complimentary lunch, provided they make a reservation by November 5, 2023. To secure a spot, seniors can call the Office for the Aging at (845) 340-3456. Due to limited space, early registration is advised, as the event may reach capacity quickly.
Food ordering deadlines and venue capacity mean that those who do not register by the RSVP date may not be guaranteed a seat or meal. This initiative not only offers seniors a chance to learn about the value of their items but also fosters community engagement through shared experiences and discussions.
The “Hidden Treasures” event reflects the ongoing commitment of the Ulster County Office for the Aging to provide enriching activities for seniors. By facilitating such events, the office aims to enhance the quality of life for older residents through educational opportunities and social interaction.
Residents interested in appraisals or simply sharing a meal with fellow seniors are encouraged to attend. This event is a unique chance to learn more about the potential worth of personal items while enjoying a community-oriented lunch.
