Find Your New Best Friend: Adopt or Foster Pets in Guam
The Pacific Daily News has initiated a collaboration with Guam Animals In Need (GAIN) to facilitate the adoption of cats and dogs in search of loving homes. Each week, the partnership highlights several pets available for adoption at the GAIN shelter, aiming to connect these animals with potential owners.
Individuals interested in meeting these pets can visit the GAIN shelter located in Yigo, which is open from Monday to Saturday. It is advisable to call ahead at (671) 653-4246 to confirm the shelter’s operating hours before visiting.
For those unable to visit in person, adoption options are available online. Interested parties can explore pets available for adoption on the GAIN website at guamanimals.org. The organization offers a streamlined process that allows individuals to complete adoptions entirely via email, making it easier for people to provide homes for these animals.
In addition to adoptions, GAIN also seeks foster homes for pets in need. Individuals who wish to foster rather than adopt can reach out to the acting foster coordinator, Stephanie DeForge, at [email protected] for further details on the fostering process and requirements.
This initiative not only addresses the urgent need for shelter animals to find permanent homes but also raises awareness about the importance of animal welfare in the community. By featuring pets each week, the Pacific Daily News and GAIN hope to inspire more residents to consider adopting or fostering, thereby enhancing the lives of both pets and their new families.
Community members are encouraged to take part in this effort to give these adorable animals a chance at a brighter future.
