Avon Lake Celebrates Opening of New Little Buckeye Learning Center
The City of Avon Lake officially inaugurated the new Little Buckeye Learning Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at The Landings, located at 445 Avon Belden Road. This event marks an important expansion for the childcare provider, which has served families in the Greater Columbus area since its inception in 1971.
Little Buckeye Learning Center (LBLC) is taking significant steps to broaden its reach, with plans for three new centers in the Greater Cleveland area, including the location in Avon Lake. A fourth center is set to open in North Ridgeville next year. “We chose Avon Lake because it’s a vibrant, family-centered community where children truly thrive,” stated Becky Volle, Center Director of LBLC Avon Lake.
Families gathered to explore the center’s spacious classrooms and distinctive learning spaces, such as Bucky’s Big Reading Room and Bucky’s Learning Lab. The facility features large, family-oriented commons areas designed for gatherings, where families enjoyed refreshments and engaged in fun, take-home activities.
The opening of LBLC in Avon Lake is seen as a positive development for the community. Ted Esborn, Community Development Director for the City of Avon Lake, emphasized the importance of high-quality childcare, noting, “Increased availability of high-quality childcare for families contributes to the overall quality of life we work hard to maintain in Avon Lake.” He added that LBLC’s presence reaffirms the city’s reputation as a thriving community for families and businesses.
LBLC caters to children aged 6 weeks to 12 years, offering engaging, age-appropriate programming and a variety of family-oriented activities. “Little Buckeye Learning Center is so much more than childcare,” Volle explained. “We’re a community where children and families grow together. By focusing on families and offering the highest quality care and education, Little Buckeye gives children so much more than a place to learn; we give them a place to thrive.”
