Santa Clarita Valley Chamber Honors Veterans at Salute to Patriots

The Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the city of Santa Clarita, has revealed the honorees for the 15th Annual Salute to Patriots. This event, which recognizes veterans for their exceptional commitment to the nation and the local business community, is set to take place on October 4, 2025, at the SCV Senior Center at Bella Vida. Registration will begin at 15:30, with the ceremony commencing at 16:00.

The selected honorees for this year, listed alphabetically, include: Camille Applin-Jones, Juan Blanco, Robert Lasher, Vernon Charles Miller, Anthony Straight, Deputy Keith Wells, and Eric White. According to Di Thompson, chair of the SCV Chamber board for 2025, “This year’s honorees represent the very best of Santa Clarita, individuals who have served with distinction and continue to make an impact through leadership and community service.”

The Salute to Patriots not only serves as a tribute but also as a call to action, encouraging others to follow the examples set by these distinguished veterans. The nomination process involved submissions from chamber members and local residents throughout October, highlighting veterans who demonstrate ongoing service beyond their military commitments. Out of numerous nominations, seven outstanding veterans were ultimately selected for this year’s recognition.

The chamber emphasizes that nominations not selected this year will remain under consideration for future events, ensuring that every story of service is acknowledged. Ivan Volschenk, president and CEO of the SCV Chamber, remarked, “Our veterans are pillars of our community. Their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment remind us what true service means. We owe them our deepest gratitude. Honoring them brings us together in appreciation and pride for all they have given.”
