A teacher’s assistant at Patterson Elementary School in Houston has been removed from their position following allegations of inappropriate conduct involving a four-year-old student. The allegations were brought to light by the child’s mother, Aliya, who reported that her daughter disclosed the incident to her last Friday.

Aliya emphasized the emotional impact of the situation, stating, “As a parent and a grandma, it hurts because she’s only four years old. And we have to, we have to be her voice.” Her mother, Yvonne, who also supports the family in seeking answers, noted that they had previously interacted with the staff member without observing any troubling behavior.

The Houston Independent School District (HISD) has confirmed that an open investigation is underway regarding the allegations. A district spokesperson stated, “Anytime there are allegations of this nature, the subject is immediately removed from the campus. We take every report seriously, and the allegations will be investigated thoroughly.” The district is also providing support to the family as the investigation proceeds.

Following the incident, Aliya expressed her frustration regarding the school’s communication, questioning why the school had not made the situation public. “I want justice for my daughter. I want to know why the school hasn’t made it public, if this happened Thursday and I reported it Friday,” she stated.

As of now, the community awaits further updates on the investigation and any measures that may be taken in response to the allegations. The HISD has assured that they are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.

The incident has sparked discussions about safety protocols within schools and the importance of addressing allegations of misconduct promptly. Parents in the area are calling for increased transparency from school officials regarding such serious matters.

As investigations continue, the family remains determined to seek justice for the alleged victim, highlighting the need for vigilance and accountability within educational institutions.
