Addison Bulldogs Sweep Meek to Capture Class 1A Volleyball Title
The Addison Bulldogs have claimed the Class 1A state volleyball title, decisively defeating the No. 5 Meek High School team with scores of 25-14, 25-15, and 28-26 at Bill Harris Arena on October 29, 2025. This victory marks the Bulldogs’ return to the top, having last won the championship in 2022, and it represents the 15th state title in the program’s history.
With a final season record of 34 wins and 14 losses, Addison showcased their dominance throughout the tournament. They advanced to the championship match after overcoming No. 9 Millry with scores of 25-18, 25-18, and 25-15, followed by a commanding win against Appalachian, winning 25-11, 25-17, and 25-7. This impressive run set the stage for their successful title defense.
Outstanding Performances Highlight Championship Match
In the championship match, Ava Bartlett stood out as the driving force behind Addison’s success, contributing significantly with 18 kills and five digs. Her exceptional performance earned her the title of Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the tournament. Other notable players included Allie Ruth Powell, who added 13 kills and 11 digs, and Anna Beth Powell, who recorded 30 assists along with nine digs and three kills. Kendall Wyatt also played a crucial role, contributing 13 digs and three assists.
This championship win not only reaffirms Addison’s status as a powerhouse in high school volleyball but also highlights the team’s resilience and skill. The Bulldogs’ journey through the tournament demonstrated their teamwork and determination, ultimately leading to a well-deserved title. As they celebrate this achievement, the focus will now shift to rebuilding and preparing for the next season, aiming to continue their legacy of success.
