Scarinci Hollenbeck, LLC has announced the addition of veteran New Jersey real estate attorney Joseph DeMarco as a partner, enhancing the firm’s capabilities in real estate, land use, and public law. This strategic move, effective from September 25, 2025, also includes the hiring of two associate attorneys, Jessica R. Dietz and Daniel Tokarz, further expanding the firm’s diverse legal expertise.

DeMarco brings over twenty years of experience in both public and private sectors, previously serving as Somerset County Counsel and municipal administrator for Bayonne and West New York. His extensive background in navigating large-scale development projects positions him uniquely to assist clients with complex real estate transactions and redevelopment initiatives.

As a partner at Scarinci Hollenbeck, DeMarco will focus on advising clients through the intricacies of real estate law, from negotiating financial agreements to securing necessary zoning and planning approvals. His dual experience in public governance and private development allows him to provide clients with practical insights and solutions tailored to their specific project needs.

“I have witnessed the complexities and challenges of redevelopment projects firsthand,” said DeMarco. “Joining Scarinci Hollenbeck’s Real Estate team allows me to leverage my experience to help clients overcome obstacles and realize their vision for transformative projects.”

Managing Partner Donald Scarinci praised DeMarco’s arrival, stating, “Joe is a deal maker. His extensive experience with land use regulations and municipal ordinances is invaluable in New Jersey real estate transactions.” Scarinci highlighted the significance of DeMarco’s hands-on approach and commitment to public service as tremendous assets to the firm.

The addition of DeMarco coincides with a period of growth for Scarinci Hollenbeck’s Real Estate Practice. Recently, the firm welcomed Partner Ryan Miller and his team of three attorneys, further bolstering its strengths in litigation, redevelopment, zoning, and land use matters.

In addition to DeMarco, the firm has welcomed associate attorneys Dietz and Tokarz. Tokarz has joined the Litigation Department, where he will focus on civil litigation, including contract disputes and real estate litigation. Meanwhile, Dietz will contribute to the firm’s Public Law and Education Law Departments, representing various public entities across New Jersey, such as school boards and municipalities.

Their diverse backgrounds and fresh perspectives are expected to enhance the firm’s ability to provide comprehensive legal counsel across a range of practice areas, ultimately benefiting clients throughout New Jersey and beyond.

Scarinci Hollenbeck, LLC is recognized as a premier law firm specializing in Commercial Real Estate, Land Use, Litigation, Corporate Governance, and Regulatory Compliance, among other areas. The firm aims to deliver tailored legal solutions that address the unique challenges businesses face in today’s complex landscape.
