Labubu Dolls to Debut at Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
The beloved Labubu dolls will make their highly anticipated debut at the 99th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on November 27, 2024. This festive event, which has become a cornerstone of American holiday tradition, will feature a vibrant new float designed by the Labubu maker, Pop Mart.
The float, titled “Friendsgiving in POP CITY,” promises to showcase an array of colorful and imaginative characters, including SKULLPANDA, Peach Riot, Dimoo, MOLLY, and Duckoo. The stars of the float will be Labubu and Mokoko, who will be represented as exceptional 16-foot-tall inflatable sculptures. According to parade organizers, these will be the first inflatable sculptures of their kind featured on a float in the event’s history.
In addition to the parade, Pop Mart plans to host a special holiday pop-up event at the iconic Macy’s Herald Square in New York City this November. The pop-up will provide fans with the opportunity to interact with their favorite Pop Mart characters and products in person.
Larry Lu, President of Pop Mart, The Americas, expressed enthusiasm about participating in such a prestigious event, stating, “Bringing our characters to life at such a storied event represents a significant milestone for us as we kick off our 15th anniversary. It is an honor to represent our team, artist partners, and the global Pop Mart community during one of the great traditions of the holiday season.”
The upcoming parade is expected to feature an impressive lineup, including 32 inflatable balloons, 23 floats, and 33 clown crews. Among other new floats for 2024 will be “The Counting Sheep’s Dream Generator” from Serta and “The Land of Ice and Wonder” from Holland America Line, which will showcase the largest kinetic sculpture in the parade’s history.
As anticipation builds for this year’s celebration, the integration of Labubu dolls into the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade highlights the enduring appeal of these charming characters, further solidifying their place in the hearts of fans around the world.
