Medina Recreation Center Receives Donation of Baby Changing Tables

The Medina Community Recreation Center has recently benefited from a generous donation of baby changing tables by Foundations Worldwide Inc., a company specializing in children’s products. This follows an earlier announcement by Parks and Recreation Director Jansen Wehrley, who confirmed that the company had already donated a universal changing station valued at $10,500.
Upgraded Facilities for Families
The newly donated baby changing tables come at a crucial time for the recreation center, which has recently completed locker room renovations. Wehrley indicated that the decision to upgrade the baby changing facilities arose after questions about the age of the existing stations. Upon investigating, they found that the current tables were significantly outdated.
“The council just last month accepted the approval for the adult changing station, and we had just completed our locker room renovations,” Wehrley explained. “We reached out to Foundations for a quote on baby changing tables, and they generously shipped them to us at no cost.”
The new universal changing station, which is designed for users of all ages and sizes, can accommodate up to 500 pounds. It will be installed in one of the family changing rooms at the rec center. Wehrley noted that the Medina school maintenance staff has agreed to assist with the installation, ensuring a smooth process.
Additionally, the Medina County Board of Developmental Disabilities will provide customized instructional signage to be displayed near the changing station, enhancing usability for all families who visit the facility.
Halloween Safety Tips for Families
In related news, as Halloween approaches, the city is urging parents to prioritize safety when selecting costumes, wigs, and accessories for their children. The city recommends choosing fire-resistant materials to minimize risks. Furthermore, children who will be out after dark are advised to attach reflective tape to their costumes and bags or carry glow sticks to increase visibility.
Using nontoxic makeup instead of masks is also encouraged, as masks can obstruct vision and increase the likelihood of accidents. These recommendations aim to ensure that families enjoy a safe and fun Halloween celebration.
With these recent enhancements and safety measures, the Medina Community Recreation Center continues to focus on providing a welcoming and secure environment for families in the community.
