Turner Center Welcomes Community to 8th Annual ARToberfest on Oct. 25
The Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts will host its 8th annual ARToberfest on October 25, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Turner Center Art Park, located at 605 N. Patterson St. This vibrant festival is free and open to the public, celebrating National Arts & Humanities Month while showcasing the talents of local and regional artists.
ARToberfest has become a cornerstone event for both the Turner Center and the Valdosta community. It provides a platform for dozens of artist vendors to display and sell their artworks, fostering connections between creators and art enthusiasts. Alongside the art vendors, attendees can enjoy a range of engaging activities, including pottery and flameworking demonstrations, live music, and professional face painting. Children can participate in free youth activities, such as pumpkin painting and rides on a trackless train. Additionally, the Fifth Day Farm Petting Zoo will offer hands-on experiences for families.
The festival will also feature a plein air painting contest for artists aged 18 and over. Prizes include a first-place award of $1,000, a second-place prize of $500, and a third-place prize of $250. Artists interested in participating are encouraged to register for membership with the Regional Artist Community (RAC) for $75, which includes a complimentary booth at ARToberfest, the opportunity to sell works at the Turner Center Gift Shop, and participation in the annual RAC Gallery Exhibit.
The success of the 8th Annual ARToberfest is made possible through the generous support of various sponsors, including Blanton and Griffin Insurance, the Georgia Council for the Arts, Greater Valdosta United Way, and several local businesses and organizations.
For more details about the schedule and participation, individuals can contact the Turner Center at (229) 247-2787 or visit their website at turnercenter.org. This festival not only highlights the artistic talents within the community but also emphasizes the significant impact of the arts on local life, making it a must-attend event for all.
