Green Truck Pub Marks 15 Years with Fundraiser for Renegade Paws

Green Truck Pub in Savannah, Georgia, is celebrating its 15th anniversary on October 18, 2023, by hosting a fundraiser in collaboration with Renegade Paws Rescue. The restaurant plans to give back to the community that has supported it over the years through a series of events aimed at promoting local connections and animal welfare.

Owner Whitney Shephard expressed enthusiasm for the occasion, stating, “We will match donations for Renegade Paws that are made all day. All you have to do is show up and eat dinner or lunch, and we will donate a portion of sales.” In addition to this, Green Truck Pub will match any direct donations made to Renegade Paws dollar for dollar.

The anniversary celebration will feature a variety of activities, including a pet foster and adoption fair. Local artists will showcase their work, and there will be food and drink specials throughout the day. A unique addition to the festivities includes “ketchup painting,” which promises to engage both children and adults. Guests can also bring pet supplies, such as food, toys, and leashes, to further support Renegade Paws.

Mary Britton from Renegade Paws Rescue highlighted the significance of monetary donations, stating, “That is what helps us to keep the dogs with their shots and medical care and things like that.” She also noted the importance of collecting essential supplies for the animals, such as leashes, collars, harnesses, and dog bowls.

The celebration aims to strengthen bonds within the community, recognizing the importance of relationships between people and their pets, as well as the connection between local businesses and residents.

The anniversary event will kick off at 16:00 local time, with the art market running from 17:00 to 21:00. Green Truck Pub is located at 2430 Habersham Street in Savannah. The restaurant invites everyone to join in the festivities and contribute to a cause that benefits both the local community and animals in need.
