Three-Star Offensive Lineman Ben Gula Commits to CU Buffs
The Colorado Buffaloes have secured a significant addition to their football program with the commitment of three-star offensive lineman Ben Gula. On Friday night, Gula, a standout from Cypress Bay High School in Florida, announced his decision to join the Buffs, opting for a future in Boulder over staying closer to home.
At 6-foot-5 and 285 pounds, Gula chose Colorado after weighing several options, including a notable offer from the University of Central Florida. His commitment adds to a growing class for the Buffaloes, marking him as the 10th player to commit for the 2026 recruiting class. This also includes another offensive lineman, Xavier Payne, who stands at 6-foot-7 and weighs 320 pounds, and committed to Colorado last month.
Gula’s recruitment was extensive, as he received a total of 21 offers from various programs, showcasing his talent and potential on the field. In addition to Colorado and Central Florida, he attracted interest from schools such as Indiana, Maryland, Syracuse, Texas A&M, and Wake Forest.
The addition of Gula is particularly significant for head coach Deion Sanders as he continues to build a competitive team in the NCAA. The Buffaloes aim to enhance their offensive line, a crucial aspect of their strategy moving forward. Gula’s commitment highlights the program’s appeal and the impact of Sanders’ leadership in attracting top talent.
With the recruitment period still open, the Buffs will look to further strengthen their roster as they prepare for the upcoming season. Gula’s decision represents a crucial step in building a foundation for a promising future at Colorado.
