Colts’ Tyler Warren Aims to Shine Like Raiders’ Brock Bowers

The Indianapolis Colts have high hopes for their recent draft pick, tight end Tyler Warren, who was selected 14th overall in the 2025 NFL Draft. This follows the impressive rookie season of Brock Bowers, who led the Las Vegas Raiders with 112 receptions and 1,194 receiving yards after being chosen as the 13th overall pick in the previous year’s draft. Warren’s performance in training camp is drawing attention, with some suggesting he could emerge as a key target for the Colts in his inaugural season.
In a recent article for ESPN, analyst Ben Solak highlighted the excitement surrounding Warren’s potential. He noted that Warren’s presence has opened up new opportunities in the Colts’ playbook, which has not been seen in years. Solak remarked, “There is no hiding the excitement in Indianapolis for having a legitimate talent at tight end for the first time in years.” He added that while Warren may not lead the team in targets due to his dual role as a blocker, his opportunities will likely increase in crucial game situations such as third downs and red zone plays.
As the Colts prepare for their opening game against the Miami Dolphins on September 7, 2025, there are concerns regarding their starting quarterback situation. Anthony Richardson Sr. and Daniel Jones have struggled to establish a clear lead in the competition for the QB1 role. This uncertainty could hinder Warren’s ability to develop chemistry with the starting quarterback, crucial for his success as a rookie.
Despite these challenges, Warren remains a prominent figure in discussions for the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award. As of Monday afternoon, DraftKings Sportsbook has placed his odds at +3000, tying him for 10th among potential candidates. For Warren to stay in contention for this accolade, he must quickly build a rapport with either Richardson or Jones in the weeks leading up to the season opener.
With the Colts looking to revitalize their offense, the spotlight is on Warren to make an immediate impact. Should he perform well early in the season, it is expected that his role will expand, allowing him to become a significant contributor to the team’s success. As the Colts embark on the new season, all eyes will be on Warren and how he can emulate the achievements of Bowers in Las Vegas.
