Local Students Achieve Academic Excellence in Dean’s Lists

Several students from the Santa Clarita area have been recognized for their academic achievements by earning spots on the dean’s lists at various universities for the spring 2025 semester. This honor is awarded to students who achieve a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 while enrolled in a specified number of credits.

Millersville University Recognizes Alyna Calloway

Alyna Calloway, hailing from Canyon Country, has earned a place on the dean’s list at Millersville University in Pennsylvania. To qualify for this distinction, students must maintain a semester GPA of 3.50 or higher. Established in 1855, Millersville University is recognized as the first Normal School in Pennsylvania and is part of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.

Bemidji State University Honors Jean-Luc Hounanian

Another local student, Jean-Luc Hounanian from Santa Clarita, has also been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2025 semester at Bemidji State University. Students at this Minnesota institution must enroll in at least 12 credits and achieve a GPA of 3.5 or higher to qualify. Bemidji State University is a member of the Minnesota State system.

Hofstra University Celebrates Two Local Students

Additionally, Hofstra University, located in Hempstead, New York, has recognized two students from the Valencia area for their academic accomplishments. Both students achieved the required GPA of 3.5 to earn dean’s list honors. The students are:

– Piper Lief, majoring in nursing
– Samantha Villa-Agustin, majoring in psychology

Hofstra University is situated approximately 30 miles east of New York City and offers a diverse range of academic programs.
