Davóne Tines to Lead New World Symphony’s 2026 Festival

The New World Symphony has unveiled its lineup for the highly anticipated 2026 I Dream a World Festival, themed “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” Renowned bass-baritone Davóne Tines and soprano Kristin Young will inaugurate the festival on February 18, 2026, with a performance titled “Salon: I, Too, Sing America: Langston Hughes & Margaret Bonds.” The concert will take place at the Truist Pavilion, setting the stage for a celebration of music and culture.

Following the opening event, Tines and Young will reprise their performance on February 19, 2026, at the historic Black Archives Historic Lyric Theater. This concert will further explore the works of celebrated African American poets and composers, specifically focusing on the contributions of Langston Hughes and Margaret Bonds.

As the festival draws to a close, Tines will return for a powerful rendition of “Anthem,” accompanied by the Florida Memorial University Ambassador Chorale. This performance, scheduled for February 21 and 22, 2026, will feature innovative compositions, including Jessie Montgomery’s “Banner” and Bonds’ “The Montgomery Variations.” Conductor Kalena Bovell will lead the ensemble, promising a stirring conclusion to the festival.
