Essentia Health-Duluth Clinic Welcomes Dr. Shawna Reagan as Audiologist
Essentia Health-Duluth Clinic has announced the addition of Dr. Shawna Reagan, a doctor of audiology, to its team. Dr. Reagan expressed her enthusiasm about returning to the clinic where her passion for audiology began during her undergraduate studies at the University of Minnesota Duluth.
Reflecting on her journey, Dr. Reagan stated, “When I was an undergraduate at the University of Minnesota Duluth, I shadowed Dr. Brent Fisher in the audiology clinic at Essentia and helped him with his cochlear implant support group. This motivated me to pursue my doctorate in audiology.” She further emphasized the significance of her new role, describing it as a “true full-circle moment.”
Educational Background and Passion for Pediatric Audiology
Dr. Reagan earned her doctoral degree from San Diego State University in California. She is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, which underscores her commitment to the field. Her primary focus is on pediatric patients, a demographic she is deeply passionate about. “I love working with children with hearing loss and their families to ensure every young mind has a means to communicate and grow in the way that is best for them,” Dr. Reagan stated.
Her dedication to her work is evident as she acknowledges the responsibility parents place in her hands. “It is an honor to have families trust me to guide them through their journey, whether their child has a hearing loss or just needs a routine hearing check,” she added.
