Rowoon and Lee Yi Kyung to Join Cast of “Confidence Queen” Episodes

The excitement surrounding the South Korean drama “Confidence Queen” is set to escalate with the special cameos of actors Rowoon and Lee Yi Kyung in the upcoming episodes. The series, a new adaptation of the 2018 Japanese drama “The Confidence Man JP,” follows three skilled con artists who execute intricate schemes against various villains.
Starring Park Min Young as team leader Yoon Yi Rang, the drama features a talented cast, including Park Hee Soon as James, a master of disguise, and Joo Jong Hyuk as Myung Gu Ho, the team’s youngest member. The third and fourth episodes, airing on September 13 and September 14, 2023, will see both Rowoon and Lee Yi Kyung take on special roles that promise to entertain viewers.
Lee Yi Kyung and Rowoon’s Roles
In these episodes, Lee Yi Kyung will portray Yoo Myung Han, a well-known art critic and the primary antagonist. His character is expected to bring humor to the plot with a dose of hidden narcissism. Lee Yi Kyung shared, “I wound up making a special appearance in ‘Confidence Queen’ because of my connection to Park Min Young. Thanks to our previous experience working together for ‘Marry My Husband,’ we were able to maintain great chemistry and have fun during filming this time as well.” He also expressed gratitude for the warm welcome he received from the cast and crew, despite the extended filming schedule.
Conversely, Rowoon will play a manager in the series, interacting closely with Park Hee Soon’s character. The production team highlighted Rowoon’s positive energy, noting that he enlivened the set with his enthusiastic declaration, “I’m going to have fun filming today.”
Production Team’s Appreciation and Airing Details
The production team expressed their appreciation for both actors, stating, “We are endlessly grateful to Lee Yi Kyung and Rowoon, who gave passionate performances in response to our request for a special appearance.” Their contributions are anticipated to enhance the viewing experience, enriching Episodes 3 and 4 with their vibrant performances.
Fans can look forward to these episodes airing at 9:10 p.m. KST. While waiting for the new episodes, viewers can catch Lee Yi Kyung in “Face Me” and Rowoon in “The Matchmakers” on Viki. The anticipation surrounding these cameos adds to the excitement of a series already garnering attention for its engaging storytelling and dynamic cast.
