ESPN Unveils 2025 College Football Broadcast Teams and Line-Up

ESPN has made significant updates to its college football broadcasting line-up for the 2025 season, reaffirming its commitment to providing extensive coverage of the sport. The network will feature a mix of returning and new broadcasting teams, enhancing its presence in the competitive landscape of college football reporting.
Announced Broadcast Teams for 2025 Season
The prominent trio of Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, and Holly Rowe will lead ESPN’s top broadcasting team, covering the marquee games on both ABC and ESPN. They will kick off the season by calling the high-profile matchup between No. 4 Clemson and No. 9 LSU on Saturday, August 31, 2025, at 19:30 ET.
The secondary team, featuring Sean McDonough, Greg McElroy, and Molly McGrath, will also take the spotlight during Week 1, covering another significant game: No. 10 Miami versus No. 6 Notre Dame, also scheduled for August 31, at 19:30 ET.
In addition to these familiar voices, ESPN has introduced eight new broadcasting teams, expanding its roster for the upcoming season. Notably, former NFL quarterback Chase Daniel will join as a game analyst alongside play-by-play commentator Clay Matvick. Meanwhile, former Boston College coach Steve Addazio will collaborate with Wes Durham for prime-time coverage on the ACC Network.
2025 College Football Season Kick-Off
The college football season commenced with a historic game in Dublin, Ireland, where Iowa State faced off against Kansas State at the Aviva Stadium last Saturday. This international match set the stage for a season full of excitement and competitive spirit.
Fans can expect a full slate of games on ESPN, running from Thursday to Monday during the Labor Day weekend. One of the highlights will be the highly anticipated match between No. 1 Texas and No. 3 Ohio State, which kicks off at midday ET on Fox. ESPN’s College GameDay will be live from Ohio State at 09:00 ET, marking a significant occasion as it will be Lee Corso‘s final show after an impressive 38-year career with the program.
