ESPN Reveals Broadcasting Teams for 2025 College Football Season

ESPN has announced significant changes to its college football broadcasting line-up for the upcoming 2025 season. The network, renowned for its extensive coverage of the sport, will feature a mix of returning talent and new faces as it prepares for another exciting season.

Key Broadcast Teams for 2025

The lead broadcast team will once again include Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, and Holly Rowe. This trio is set to cover the marquee game of the week on either ABC or ESPN. In the opening week, they will be present for the highly anticipated match between No. 4 Clemson and No. 9 LSU, scheduled for Saturday, September 2, at 19:30 ET.

In addition to the lead team, Sean McDonough, Greg McElroy, and Molly McGrath will return as the second broadcast team. They will cover a special Sunday game in Week 1, featuring No. 10 Miami against No. 6 Notre Dame on August 31 at 19:30 ET.

ESPN has also introduced eight new teams to its broadcasting roster for the season. Among the notable additions is former NFL quarterback Chase Daniel, who will serve as a game analyst alongside play-by-play caller Clay Matvick. Additionally, ex-Boston College coach Steve Addazio will be joining Wes Durham in the lead broadcast team for the ACC Network’s prime time coverage.

Season Kickoff and Upcoming Highlights

The college football season commenced with a Week 0 game held in Dublin, Ireland, where Iowa State faced Kansas State at the Aviva Stadium last Saturday. This international match added an exciting twist to the start of the season.

As the season progresses, ESPN will feature games from Thursday through Monday over the Labor Day weekend. Notably, ESPN College GameDay will broadcast live from Ohio State this Saturday, covering the showdown between the No. 1 and No. 3 ranked teams, Ohio State and Texas, respectively. The game kicks off at midday ET on Fox, with College GameDay starting at 09:00 ET, marking a significant moment as it will be Lee Corso’s final appearance on the show after a remarkable 38-year tenure.

As the 2025 college football season unfolds, ESPN’s strategic broadcast changes aim to enhance viewer engagement and provide comprehensive coverage of this highly competitive sport.
