GoFundMe Launched for Paige Mitchell Following Hesperia Tragedy

A GoFundMe campaign has been established to support the family of Paige Mitchell, who tragically lost her life in a car crash involving a suspected DUI driver in Hesperia, California. The fundraiser, organized by her brother Andrew Mitchell, aims to cover funeral expenses and honor her memory.
In his heartfelt message, Andrew expressed the family’s profound sorrow. “It is with a heavy heart that I write to tell you that my beloved little sister Paige has passed. It is a very painful moment for our family right now, and we are trying to arrange for the funeral,” he stated. He remembered Paige as “so pure, so full of light, and so loved by everyone who knew her,” highlighting her ability to brighten the darkest days with her smile.
The family recounted the moment they received the devastating news on the morning of August 15, 2025. “On that day, we received the worst phone call we could have ever imagined. Our little sister in a car accident,” Andrew wrote. They learned that Paige had been a rear passenger in a vehicle struck by a drunk driver while she was out with friends.
The goal of the GoFundMe campaign, titled “Support for Paige’s Family After Her Passing,” is to provide Paige with “the beautiful, dignified farewell she deserves.” The family expressed their gratitude for the community’s support, stating, “From the depths of our broken hearts, thank you for helping us say goodbye to our sweet Paige.”
Accident Details and Investigation
The day following the crash, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department initially reported that Paige was the driver of the Honda Accord. However, a clarification from spokeswoman Gloria Orejel confirmed that Paige was not driving but was a rear passenger who tragically died in the collision.
The incident occurred when the Honda Accord, traveling east on Sequoia, entered the intersection and collided with a 2022 Dodge Charger driven southbound on 7th Avenue by Danilo Zamora, 22, of Apple Valley. Zamora was transported to the hospital for treatment and later booked on suspicion of DUI before being released on bail. His passenger was not injured, and all occupants of the Honda were taken to various hospitals for care.
The investigation into the collision is ongoing and being handled by the Hesperia Police Department. Community members continue to rally around the Mitchell family, demonstrating solidarity in their time of grief.
For those wishing to contribute to the GoFundMe campaign, further details can be found on the fundraising page dedicated to Paige Mitchell. The support from the community highlights the impact she had on those around her and the love shared among friends and family during this difficult time.
