Ashley McBryde Launches Redemption Bar in Nashville’s Chief’s Venue

Ashley McBryde is set to make her mark on Nashville’s vibrant nightlife with the launch of her new bar and entertainment venue, Redemption Bar, on August 28, 2023. Located on the fifth floor of Eric Church’s six-story venue known as Chief’s, the bar aims to create a welcoming space that resonates with the city’s rich musical heritage.

In a statement, McBryde expressed her vision for the venue, stating, “When the opportunity to make my mark on Broadway came, I knew I wanted to create a space that champions what’s made a difference in my life — a space that lifts up the brushed aside, and makes sure everyone feels welcome.” She emphasized that Redemption Bar will serve as a great place to start a conversation, offering drinks that are crafted with the same care that goes into songwriting. “A spot with incredible drinks of all kinds that are as well crafted and thought out as the songs you’re hearing from the vagabonds, drifters, and dreamers that make this music city, Music City,” she added.

Inspired by Personal Journey

The concept behind Redemption Bar draws from McBryde’s personal journey of sobriety, which spans three years. The bar will feature a zero-proof cocktail menu, with drink names inspired by various song lyrics. While the menu will include alcoholic options, McBryde’s commitment to inclusivity ensures that sober patrons will also find a variety of appealing choices.

Beyond its drink offerings, Redemption Bar will spotlight emerging musical talent and songwriters who focus on performing original music rather than cover songs. This aligns with McBryde’s own artistic philosophy, particularly highlighted in her career-defining tracks like “Girl Goin’ Nowhere.”

An Artistic Partnership

McBryde’s decision to open her bar within Church’s venue reflects their longstanding artistic relationship. The two have collaborated on stage multiple times, including a performance of “Bible and a .44” at one of Church’s shows in 2017. Their partnership continued to flourish when they performed “The Snake” together at the ACM Awards in 2019, and again in 2021 during McBryde’s headlining shows at the Ryman Auditorium, where Church joined her to perform a rendition of The Allman Brothers Band’s “Midnight Rider.”
