Turkish Revenge Thriller ‘The Things You Kill’ Premieres Nov. 14

The trailer for **The Things You Kill** has been released, revealing a gripping narrative centered on familial trauma and revenge. Directed by **Alireza Khatami**, this Turkish and Farsi-language film is set to premiere in select U.S. theaters on **November 14, 2023**. The film has already garnered significant attention, having been selected by **Canada** to compete in the **Best International Feature** category at the **98th Academy Awards**.
The story follows Ali, portrayed by **Ekin Koç**, a college professor grappling with the mysterious death of his ailing mother. The trailer hints at the dark themes of the film, as Ali enlists the help of his enigmatic gardener to seek vengeance against his abusive father, played by **Ercan Kesal**. As the plot unfolds, Ali investigates the circumstances surrounding his mother’s death, questioning whether it was an accident or the result of foul play.
In a pivotal moment from the trailer, Ali declares, “I’m not afraid anymore,” underscoring his emotional turmoil as he navigates the chaos at home and work. The film’s exploration of complex family dynamics and the quest for justice adds layers to its narrative, engaging viewers through its intense storyline.

**The Things You Kill** is a co-production involving **Canada**, **France**, **Poland**, and **Turkey**. Khatami not only directs but also produces the film alongside **Elisa Sepulveda-Ruddoff**, **Cyriac Auriol**, **Mariusz Włodarsk**, and **Michael Solomon**.
The film also features performances from **Erkan Kolçak Kostendil** and **Hazar Erguclu**, further adding depth to its character-driven narrative.
