Tourist Dies After Shark Attack in Crowdy Bay, Australia

He commended a bystander for applying a tourniquet to the male victim’s leg, which he noted “potentially saved his life and allowed New South Wales Ambulance paramedics to get to him and render first aid.”

He described the incident as a “terrible tragedy” and noted that local rescue teams were deploying drones to monitor the area for any remaining dangers. “We have been able to activate our drone capability quickly and have assets on scene to provide surveillance,” Pearce added.
