Visiting Angels has launched a charity recording of Robbie Williams’ iconic 1990s hit “Angels,” uniting caregivers from across the United Kingdom. This initiative aims to transform the beloved ballad into a global anthem for caregivers, highlighting their dedication and hard work. The project features nine caregivers from Visiting Angels and other care organizations, who performed as the HomeCare’s Got Talent Choir.

The recording took place at the illustrious Abbey Road Studios in London, a venue renowned for its association with legendary artists such as The Beatles and Pink Floyd. The ensuing music video showcases behind-the-scenes footage from the recording session, providing a glimpse into the collaborative effort behind the single.

Contributions to the charity track come from notable artists, including musician Kuill and Jay Aston of the pop group Bucks Fizz. According to Dan Archer, CEO of Visiting Angels UK and founder of HomeCare’s Got Talent, the idea originated during this year’s talent competition finale. Archer expressed that the choir aimed to produce a holiday hit that reflects the everyday commitment of caregivers.

Participants in this project traveled from various regions across the United Kingdom, representing organizations such as Caremark, Home Instead, Voyage Care, Mochridhe, Vitality Care, and Calon Lan Community Care. The group aspires for their charity single to surpass the original song’s performance on the U.S. charts and achieve the coveted No. 1 spot during the festive season.

Proceeds from the downloads will support two significant organizations: the Alzheimer’s Association in the United States and the Care Workers’ Charity in the United Kingdom. The Alzheimer’s Association is the largest voluntary health organization focused on Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. In contrast, the Care Workers’ Charity provides essential crisis assistance, mental health support, and advocacy for social care workers.

The charity version of “Angels” became available on major streaming platforms on November 28. This initiative not only aims to bring joy during the holiday season but also serves as a heartfelt tribute to the tireless efforts of caregivers worldwide.
