Woman Killed, Man Critically Injured in Chicago Shooting
A shooting in the Lawndale neighborhood of Chicago resulted in the death of a 22-year-old woman and left a 26-year-old man in critical condition on the night of March 2, 2024. According to the Chicago Police Department, the incident occurred at approximately 20:10 in the 3800-block of W. Roosevelt Road.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers found emergency medical personnel from the Chicago Fire Department administering aid to both victims. The woman was discovered unresponsive on the ground, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds to her chest. She was transported to Stroger Hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The male victim, aged 26, suffered a gunshot wound to his back and was also taken to a nearby hospital. His condition has been reported as critical, and further details regarding his status have not yet been released.
As of now, no individuals are in custody, and the Chicago Police Department is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Authorities have not provided any additional information or details about potential suspects or motives.
