Michelle Pfeiffer Leads Star-Studded Cast in Holiday Comedy on Prime Video
The official trailer for the upcoming holiday comedy, Oh. What. Fun., has been released, showcasing a star-studded cast led by Michelle Pfeiffer. The film, set to premiere on December 3, 2025, on Prime Video, tells the story of a burnt-out mother, Claire, who embarks on an unexpected adventure after feeling overwhelmed and unappreciated during the holiday season.
In the trailer, Claire, portrayed by Pfeiffer, attempts to create a joyful holiday atmosphere for her family. However, when her adult children leave her behind for a recital, she decides to take matters into her own hands. Her journey leads her to crash a reality television show taping, marking a departure from the traditional holiday narrative.
Alongside Pfeiffer, the film features performances from Felicity Jones and Chloë Grace Moretz as Claire’s daughters, Denis Leary as her husband Nick, and Dominic Sessa as her son Sammy. The ensemble cast also includes well-known actors such as Danielle Brooks, Devery Jacobs, Havana Rose Liu, Maude Apatow, Jason Schwartzman, Eva Longoria, and Joan Chen.
Film Details and Creative Team
Directed by Michael Showalter, who co-wrote the script with author Chandler Baker, Oh. What. Fun. promises to be a spirited addition to holiday cinema. The film is described as a celebration of the often underappreciated efforts of holiday hosts.
A unique aspect of this film is the original Christmas song, “Shake The Snow Globe,” written by renowned artist Gwen Stefani. Stefani, known for her previous holiday album, You Make It Feel Like Christmas, brings her musical talents to the film, adding to its festive spirit. The song is now available for streaming on Amazon Music.
The release of Oh. What. Fun. adds to Prime Video’s holiday offerings this season, which also include Tyler Perry’s Finding Joy, featuring Shannon Thornton as a struggling fashion designer. Additionally, viewers can anticipate the new rom-com Merv, starring Zooey Deschanel and Charlie Cox, centered around an ex-couple connected through their love for their dog.
Pfeiffer’s role in Oh. What. Fun. marks her first major appearance since her role in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in 2023, making this film a highly anticipated return for the acclaimed actress.
As the holiday season approaches, this film promises to resonate with audiences looking for both humor and heart, encapsulating the chaos and joys of family life during the festive period.
