Kandiyohi County Board to Vote on New Logo and Property Plans
The Kandiyohi County Board of Commissioners is set to vote on a new logo during its meeting on October 7, 2023. The proposed design, created by the local firm Hansen Advertising, aims to modernize the county’s image while honoring the themes and colors of the existing logo. This update reflects the county’s current identity and values, as outlined in the materials shared ahead of the meeting.
In addition to the logo discussion, the board will consider a proposal from Tepetonka Hospitality LLC regarding the county’s recently acquired property adjacent to the landfill. This property encompasses 140 acres and was subject to a request for proposals issued in August. The goal is to explore leasing options that prioritize recreational use while preserving the natural character of the land.
Infrastructure and Technological Initiatives
The board will also act as the drainage authority to address a petition from the Middle Fork Crow River Watershed. This petition seeks to replace inlet, outlet, and diversion structures associated with County Ditch 20 at Green Lake and Calhoun Lake. This infrastructure work is essential for maintaining the water management systems in the area.
Following the official board meeting, a work session is scheduled to discuss a potential agreement with TipCo, a company specializing in automated systems. The focus will be on introducing a new AI-powered assistant, referred to as EVA, designed to help manage call volume in the Health and Human Services Department. This technological advancement aims to improve service efficiency and responsiveness.
