Detour Implemented as Trans-Canada Highway Remains Closed
The Trans-Canada Highway remains closed in both directions east of Sicamous following a significant crash that occurred at approximately 8:00 a.m. on the stretch between Husky Frontage Road and Arnold Frontage Road. Although traffic is currently halted, DriveBC has announced that a detour is now available for passenger vehicles, allowing them to bypass the affected area.
Drivers seeking to navigate around the closure should follow the designated detour routes. These alternatives have been put in place to minimize disruption and ensure the safe passage of travelers while the highway remains closed for investigation and cleanup.
The closure affects a 2.6-kilometre section of the highway, which is a critical transport route in the region. Authorities are working diligently to assess the situation and reopen the highway as soon as it is deemed safe.
More updates will be provided as the situation unfolds. Motorists are advised to stay informed through official channels and plan their travel routes accordingly to avoid delays.
