A three-vehicle collision in Eureka Township on Thursday afternoon resulted in one individual being treated for minor injuries. The incident occurred at approximately 16:28 local time at the intersection of S. Youngman and W. Wise roads, prompting a swift response from emergency services.

According to Deputy Todd Graham of the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office, the crash began when the driver of a gray Chevy Silverado pickup truck, traveling westbound on W. Wise Road, was preparing to turn left onto southbound S. Youngman Road. Behind the Silverado, a black Chevy Malibu was waiting for the turn to be completed.

A third vehicle, a maroon Dodge Ram pickup truck, struck the Chevy Malibu from behind. The impact propelled the Malibu into the Chevy Silverado, damaging all three vehicles involved. Following this sequence of collisions, the Chevy Malibu veered off the road, striking a tree before coming to a stop.

Deputy Graham described the sequence of events, stating, “The Malibu was waiting behind the first pickup when it was struck by the second pickup, sending the Malibu into the first pickup, and then off the road and into a tree. The last vehicle in the stack didn’t stop. They tried to, but couldn’t stop in time.”

Of the four individuals involved in the incident, one was transported by Montcalm County EMS for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Deputy Graham confirmed that one person complained of pain and was taken to receive precautionary medical care.

The sheriff’s office has not confirmed whether any citations will be issued, and the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing. Authorities from the Greenville Department of Public Safety, the Michigan State Police, along with Jerry’s Towing and Recovery and Captain Hook’s Towing and Recovery, assisted at the scene.

No further details have been released as the investigation continues. Local residents are reminded to exercise caution at busy intersections, particularly during peak traffic hours.
