It scared everyone,” Guillen said. He and his family operate a restaurant inside the market and expressed relief that no one was harmed during the incident.
Despite a significant portion of the vehicle entering the store, the driver managed to reverse and leave the scene, as reported by another witness to KOMO News. The quick recovery of the driver added to the surprise of onlookers, who were still reeling from the shock of the crash.
Community Response and Safety Concerns
Local residents and business owners are now discussing the implications of such incidents in the community. The crash highlighted concerns regarding traffic safety in the area, particularly near busy establishments like Bueno Market. They will review traffic patterns and consider recommendations for improving safety near commercial zones. The King County Sheriff’s Office is also urging drivers to be mindful of their vehicle controls to prevent similar accidents.
As the community processes this event, the focus remains on ensuring that businesses like Bueno Market can operate safely, free from the threat of accidents. Fortunately, in this incident, the outcome was less severe than it could have been, allowing the market to continue serving its customers.
