Belkin Unveils New SoundForm USB-C Earbuds and Chargers at IFA 2025

Belkin showcased its latest innovations at the IFA 2025 technology fair in Berlin, including a new lineup of Qi2.2 magnetic wireless chargers and a pair of wired earbuds. Among these products, the most notable were the SoundForm USB-C Wired Earbuds with active noise cancelling (ANC) and the UltraCharge Magnetic Charger 25W.

The SoundForm USB-C Wired Earbuds have garnered attention due to their rarity in the current market, where wired models are becoming less common. These earbuds are designed with a clean white aesthetic and feature flat wires that lead to slightly larger earbud housings. They are water- and sweat-resistant, equipped with 12mm drivers, which is slightly larger than the 11mm drivers found in Apple’s AirPods Pro. Belkin claims these earbuds deliver “rich sound and deep bass.”

During a brief testing session, the sound quality proved to be decent, avoiding the tinny or muffled characteristics often found in lower-quality models. While the bass was satisfactory, it may not satisfy those seeking extreme low-end performance. The ANC feature, while functional, does not match the effectiveness of competitors like the AirPods Pro 2. It does, however, manage to reduce ambient noise effectively, albeit with some difficulty handling specific mid-range sounds.

Users can choose between ANC and transparency modes, or turn both off entirely. The decision to utilize a USB-C connection instead of a traditional 3.5mm jack allows the earbuds to incorporate ANC technology. Although this connection method limits compatibility, it provides an advantage over wireless earbuds, which require charging and may face battery degradation over time.

Belkin’s representative, Jen Wei, noted that the company typically does not receive complaints regarding the durability of its USB-C connectors. Nevertheless, users should remain cautious, as wear and tear can affect the longevity of these connections. The SoundForm USB-C Wired Earbuds are set to be available in October 2025 for $34.99.

Belkin is not alone in reviving wired earbuds. Sony also announced its IER-EX15C in-ear headphones at IFA 2025, priced at $30, but lacking ANC functionality. For an additional $5, Belkin’s offering provides an appealing alternative with noise cancellation features.

Additional Innovations at IFA 2025

In addition to the earbuds, Belkin introduced the UltraCharge Magnetic Charger 25W. This charger resembles a MagSafe-style puck but includes a ring-shaped kickstand for stabilizing devices during use. Unlike the recently launched UltraCharge 3-in-1 Magnetic Charging Dock, this standalone charger features a heatsink for passive cooling, addressing the heat generated during magnetic charging. The UltraCharge Magnetic Charger 25W will be available in November 2025 for $39.95.

Another intriguing product from Belkin’s booth was the BoostCharge Retractable Car Charger 75W, which combines a 60W charging capability with an integrated USB-C cable extending 75cm (approximately 2.5 feet). This charger also includes one USB-A and one USB-C port, optimizing power delivery when multiple devices are connected.

While retractable cables often raise concerns about durability, initial impressions of the BoostCharge’s cable were positive, with a smooth retraction mechanism that inspires confidence. This product will be available in the United States in October 2025 for $29.99.

Belkin’s latest announcements at IFA 2025 highlight a renewed interest in wired audio solutions while also addressing the evolving landscape of charging technologies. As consumers continue to navigate a sea of wireless options, products like the SoundForm USB-C Wired Earbuds may find a niche among those who appreciate the reliability and simplicity of wired connections.
