The University at Albany women’s lacrosse team, led by Head Coach Katie Thomson, has unveiled its schedule for the 2026 season. This announcement comes as the team looks to build on its recent successes, having won two America East Championships in the past three years, specifically in 2023 and 2025. Thomson expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming season, stating, “We are excited to share our 2026 schedule! This lineup will provide our team with opportunities to grow, learn, and compete at a high level.”

UAlbany’s schedule features a total of eight home games, seven of which will take place at John Fallon Field. The season will culminate with a final game against Bryant at Bob Ford Field at Casey Stadium. Among the notable non-conference opponents visiting Albany are Syracuse, Boston College, Harvard, Wagner, and Niagara. The Great Danes will also face America East rivals, including a rematch against Bryant, which they defeated in the 2025 championship game.

The team begins its season on February 10 with an away game against Holy Cross, followed by a match against Stony Brook on February 15. Stony Brook, a former America East team, switched to the CAA in 2023 and finished as CAA Champions in 2025, achieving a national ranking of No. 15.

UAlbany will host its Home Opener on February 21 against Harvard, a team that concluded the 2025 season ranked No. 25. The Great Danes will then face Niagara on February 25, before hitting the road to play UConn and Colgate.

The first America East game of the season occurs on March 14 against New Hampshire. UAlbany then embarks on a four-game homestand featuring matchups against UMass Lowell and Binghamton, as well as prestigious ACC teams like Syracuse and Boston College. The homestand begins on March 21 against UMass Lowell, a team UAlbany has faced twice in the America East Semifinals over the past two seasons.

UAlbany will host Syracuse on March 24. The Great Danes and Orange were both part of the same bracket in the 2025 NCAA Tournament, where UAlbany faced a narrow defeat against Yale. Following Syracuse, Binghamton will visit on March 28, with the Great Danes looking to avenge a previous championship loss against them in 2024.

The final home game during this stretch will be against Boston College on March 30. BC has been a dominant force in women’s lacrosse, finishing 2025 ranked No. 3 and claiming NCAA Championship titles in 2021 and 2024.

As the season progresses, UAlbany will conclude its schedule with three critical America East matchups. The Great Danes will visit UMBC on April 4, host Bryant on April 11, and finish the regular season with a road game at Vermont on April 18. After a bye week, the postseason will commence with the America East Semifinals on May 1 and the Championship on May 3.
