Summit and Ridgeview Secure Dominant Victories in Friday Night Football

On September 5, 2025, Summit and Ridgeview showcased their football prowess with commanding victories in their respective games. Summit triumphed over Roseburg with a score of 42-7, while Ridgeview defeated McNary 35-0. Both teams displayed exceptional skill and strategic execution, setting a competitive tone for the remainder of the season.

Summit’s senior running back Dylan Hughes was a standout performer, contributing significantly to the team’s success with three touchdowns. He scored two rushing touchdowns and added another on a fumble recovery. The Storm surged to a commanding 35-0 lead by the third quarter, supported by additional touchdowns from senior running back Jude Anderson, who completed a 12-yard run, and senior wide receiver Kellen Bailey, who caught an 8-yard pass from junior quarterback Andrew Guthrie. Sophomore quarterback Curren Stilson also added to the score with a 16-yard run. In a strong defensive effort, Summit forced a safety, highlighting their dominance on both sides of the ball. Next week, they will face the two-time defending state champions, Wilsonville, on the road.

Meanwhile, Ridgeview’s performance was equally impressive. Senior running back Ty Stevens led the Ravens with two rushing touchdowns in their decisive win against McNary. Junior wide receiver Finn Chambers contributed to the victory with a touchdown reception and showcased his defensive skills with an interception. Notably, Ridgeview has not allowed any points in their first two games this season. The Ravens will also be on the road next week, traveling to face South Albany in their final non-league match.

In other games, West Albany edged out Bend with a 22-14 victory. Senior quarterback Kaden Cooper quickly set the tone for the Lava Bears, connecting with senior wide receiver Max Duncan for an 80-yard touchdown on the first play of the game. Cooper finished with two touchdown passes, including another to senior wideout Marcio Silva. Despite their efforts, Bend fell short and will host Springfield next week for their home opener.

Estacada secured a narrow win over Crook County, with a final score of 14-7. Junior running back Wyatt Neathery scored the Cowboys’ sole touchdown in their season opener. Defensive standout Talen Williams made a crucial fumble recovery, but it was not enough to change the outcome. Crook County will head to Ashland next week.

Madras faced Sweet Home in their home opener but suffered a 35-6 defeat. The White Buffalos will look to bounce back on the road against Burns next week. Sisters struggled against the defending 3A champions, falling to Burns 38-6, while La Pine also lost their opener, 30-6 to South Umpqua. The Hawks will meet Klamath Union next Thursday.

As the football season progresses, these teams will continue to vie for supremacy, each seeking to build on their early performances and secure their spots in the postseason.
