The Marauders achieved a significant milestone by securing their tenth consecutive win in the men’s division of the Newark & District Double Board Darts League. The reigning champions triumphed over in-house rivals Wheatsheaf Phoenix with a score of 4-1, further solidifying their position at the top of the league. The Marauders are now on the path to potentially clinching their fourth successive winter league title.

In this latest match, the Marauders quickly established a 2-0 lead, thanks to impressive checkouts from players Andy Brown and Paul Gallacher. Although Wheatsheaf’s Rob O’Neil capitalized on missed opportunities by the Marauders to win the third leg, the champions regained control. Shane Gallacher secured the fourth leg, and a final checkout from Paul Gallacher sealed a comfortable victory for the Marauders.

Meanwhile, the competition for second place intensified as Castle & Falcon Bellies and Bullseyes edged past RHP 26ers in a closely contested match, finishing 3-2. Key checkouts from John Esam, Chris Clawson, and Kevin Rose helped secure the victory. The 26ers managed to equalize at one stage, thanks to Craig Ashley‘s impressive 71 finish, before Jon Gough provided a consolation finish.

The Taverners also made headlines by extending their winning streak to four matches. They recorded a commanding 5-0 victory against Castle & Falcon Arrows, with standout performances from Brian Coughill, Matthew Glover, and Richard Taylor. This victory places them firmly in third position.

Castle & Falcon BBC2s moved into fourth place after a 5-0 victory over RHP Darts of Hazzard, who remain winless this season. Checkouts from Jay Needham, Donovan Atkin, Glen Iveson, and a pair from James Brown secured the win.

In a thrilling match, Railway Thursday claimed their second win of the season by narrowly defeating Balderton Cricket Club 3-2. The Railway team initially surged to a 2-0 lead with checkouts from Reece Chapman and Zak Daubney. However, Balderton fought back with checkouts from Nick Morley and Jack Beckett before Will Peasgood sealed the win for Railway in the deciding leg.

In the ladies’ division, reigning champions Railway Youngers increased their lead to an impressive 28 points. They dominated their match against Railway Club Artists, securing a 13-2 victory. Key contributions came from Debbie Braithwaite, Linda Gregory, and Louise Fletcher, who also clinched the winning double in the team leg. Julia Condliffe-Turner managed to avert a complete whitewash for the Artists with a singles win.

Castle & Falcon Bangers climbed to second place following an 11-4 victory over Caffs Ladies. Anita Scott‘s singles win helped establish an early lead, while Mandy Walker and skipper Karen Whittaker contributed to the decisive victory.

The Wanderers also made significant strides, moving up to fourth place after a strong 11-4 win against Castle & Falcon Hitters. The Grove-based team showcased their strength through consistent performances, including an early lead established by Shannon Higgins.

In the Premiership, newcomers Ryan Holland, Chris Brown, and Martin Fryer made their mark during matchday six. Each player recorded three victories, with Holland leading Group A and Brown and Fryer tied at the top of Group B.

The results from the latest matches reflect the competitive spirit within the league. As the season progresses, all teams are vying for a place at the top, making every match crucial in the quest for victory.
