Las Vegas Motor Speedway Secures Two NASCAR Cup Races for 2026
Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS) will host two NASCAR Cup Series races in 2026, maintaining its prominent role in the motorsport calendar. The races are scheduled for March 15 and October 4, with the latter being part of the NASCAR playoffs as the second event in the Round of 12. In a notable change, LVMS will no longer feature a race in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
NASCAR announced its complete schedule for the three national touring series on a Tuesday, highlighting the significance of Las Vegas in the Cup Series lineup. LVMS will also host two races in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, previously known as the Xfinity Series, on March 14 and October 3.
Patrick Lindsey, senior vice president and general manager of LVMS, expressed pride in the track’s continued association with NASCAR. “Las Vegas is proud to be one of the few cities that gets to host two NASCAR Cup Series weekends again next year,” he stated in a release. He emphasized the venue’s history of delivering exceptional racing and entertainment since its opening in 1998.
The decision to remove the Truck Series race marks a shift for LVMS, which has been a staple on the Truck Series schedule. Since 2018, the series has raced in Las Vegas every spring and hosted two races annually from 2018 to 2021. The track has held at least one Truck Series race every year since 1996, with the exception of 2000.
Details regarding start times, weekend schedules, and broadcast information for the upcoming races will be announced at a later date. As Las Vegas prepares for these events, the anticipation for the energy and excitement that the city offers remains high. Fans from around the globe can look forward to a thrilling motorsport experience in 2026.
