Lake Taylor High School’s football team has made a significant mark in the Eastern District by recording four consecutive victories, establishing themselves as a formidable contender in the league. The Titans, currently boasting a record of 5-1, have demonstrated their scoring prowess, racking up impressive totals of 39, 53, 60, and 40 points in their recent games. Following a narrow six-point loss to Hampton, Lake Taylor has remained unbeaten in district play.

This week, the Titans face a challenging schedule with back-to-back road games against Manor and Churchland. They will then prepare for a highly anticipated matchup against the top-ranked Maury, who also holds an undefeated record in district competition. This showdown is scheduled for October 24 at Powhatan Field.

The latest rankings reflect the competitive nature of the Eastern District, with several teams maintaining strong performances. Green Run, Nansemond River, and Poquoson all managed to stay unbeaten in their respective games last week. The rankings are determined by a panel of voters including staff members Sonny Dearth, Jami Frankenberry, Marty O’Brien, Larry Rubama, and Sam Saunders, along with correspondent Jim McGrath.
