The Colquitt County basketball teams faced challenging competition over the holiday season, participating in two separate tournaments. On December 27, 2025, the girls’ team suffered a setback in their opening game at the *Hoopin’ at the High* tournament in Brunswick, losing to the Bradwell Institute with a score of 54-38. This defeat marked the Lady Packers’ third consecutive loss, dropping their season record to 6-4.

During the game, Colquitt initially trailed closely, finishing the first quarter just two points behind at 12-10. However, the Lady Tigers of Bradwell Institute surged ahead, outscoring Colquitt 20-11 in the second quarter and maintaining their lead throughout the second half. The Lady Packers aimed to bounce back in their next match against McIntosh County Academy, who entered the tournament with a 3-7 record.

Meanwhile, the Colquitt County boys’ team commenced play in the Lee County holiday tournament on December 29, 2025, facing off against Auburndale High from Central Florida. The Packers, who held a 3-6 record prior to the tournament, were coming off a recent victory against Lee County, having won 58-51 in their last game. The team’s offense is led by senior backcourt players *Cason Harden* and *Marcus Moore*. Harden, averaging 14.9 points per game, is on the cusp of a career milestone, needing just 46 points to reach 1,000 points overall. Moore contributes an average of 12.8 points per game.

Both teams from Colquitt County are set to resume their seasons on January 3, 2026, with the girls facing Tift County, who have a record of 5-4, and the boys also competing against Tift County. The Tift County boys are navigating their season under new head coach *Charles Burkett*, who took over from *Tommy Blackshear* this year.

Following their games on January 3, the Colquitt teams will return home on January 6 to face Lowndes, looking to capitalize on their holiday tournament experiences as they move forward into the remainder of the season.
