High school football fans witnessed an exhilarating day of competition at the CIF State Bowl Championships held at various venues across California. On December 1, 2023, teams from different divisions showcased their skills in a series of hard-fought matches, culminating in impressive victories for several schools.

Friday’s Results Highlight Top Performances

At Saddleback College, the first match of the day featured a thrilling contest in the Division 1-AA championship. Folsom triumphed over San Diego Cathedral Catholic with a score of 42-28, solidifying their status as a top competitor. The Division 2-AA match saw Stockton St. Mary’s narrowly defeating Bakersfield Christian by just three points, finishing 27-24.

Fullerton High was another hotspot for Saturday’s excitement. In the Division 3-AA battle, San Francisco St. Ignatius College Prep emerged victorious against Ventura, securing a close win with a score of 42-35. Meanwhile, Valley Center edged out San Jose Lincoln in the Division 6-AA contest, winning by a single point, 36-35.

Matches held at Buena Park High also delivered memorable moments. Barstow defeated Sutter in the Division 4-AA championship with a score of 17-7, while Oakland Bishop O’Dowd secured a decisive victory over El Cajon Christian, finishing strong at 37-0.

Upcoming Matches to Watch

The championship weekend continues on December 2, 2023, with several highly anticipated matches scheduled at Saddleback College and Fullerton High. At Saddleback, the Open Division final pits Santa Margarita (10-3) against the undefeated Concord De la Salle (12-0) at 20:00 local time.

In the Division 1-A matchup, Oxnard Pacifica (15-0) will face Fresno Central East (13-1) at 15:30. The Division 2-A game features Rio Hondo Prep (15-0) taking on Sonora (14-0) at 11:30.

Over at Fullerton High, the Division 3-A clash between Delano Kennedy (11-3) and Oakland McClymonds (10-2) is set for 19:00. Additionally, San Diego Morse (10-4) will compete against Winters (13-1) in the Division 6-A game at 15:00, while the Division 7-AA matchup will see Woodbridge (7-8) challenge the undefeated Redding Christian (14-0) at 11:00.

Buena Park High will also host exciting matches, including the Division 4-A final featuring Beckman (12-3) against El Cerrito (12-2) at 19:00, and the Division 5-A showdown between Bishop Union (12-3) and Calaveras (11-2) at 15:00. The Division 7-A game will see South El Monte (11-4) face off against San Francisco Balboa (11-2) at 11:00.
