Bay Area Prepares for FIFA World Cup Final Draw Watch Parties
The San Francisco Bay Area is set to celebrate the upcoming FIFA World Cup with a series of watch parties leading up to the highly anticipated Final Draw on December 5. As one of the 16 host cities for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Bay Area is buzzing with excitement as fans prepare for this milestone event.
Taking place at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., the Final Draw will determine the match-ups, groups, and schedule for the tournament, which will feature 48 teams competing for soccer’s most prestigious trophy. As of now, 42 teams have already secured their spots, with the final six berths to be decided in playoffs scheduled for March 2024.
The draw is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. PT on December 5 and will be broadcast live on KTVU FOX 2, with coverage starting at 8:30 a.m. PT and continuing until noon. Soccer enthusiasts across the Bay Area are eager to participate in local watch parties that will bring fans together to share in the excitement.
Local Watch Parties Set to Energize Fans
The Bay Area Host Committee will host a watch party at the Chase Center in Thrive City. This free event will kick off at 9 a.m., allowing attendees to watch the draw on Thrive City’s giant video board. The first 150 fans to arrive will receive a complimentary FIFA World Cup 26 SF Bay Area hat, making it an attractive option for local supporters.
In addition to the Chase Center, the San Jose Earthquakes will hold a watch party at PayPal Park, also starting at 9 a.m.. Fans can find more details about this gathering on the team’s official website.
The Oakland Roots are organizing a watch party at the Athletic Club, which will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.. This free event promises a live viewing of the draw along with prizes for attendees, making it another exciting option for locals to engage with the World Cup festivities.
