Avon Lake Boys Basketball Game Rescheduled to January 10

The boys basketball game between Avon Lake and North Ridgeville, originally scheduled for January 9, 2026, has been moved to January 10, 2026. The decision was confirmed by Avon Lake on January 7 and is a strategic shift to ensure the game proceeds as planned.

Details of the Game Rescheduling

Due to logistical considerations, the matchup will now take place at Avon Lake. This adjustment was made to accommodate both teams, with Avon Lake Athletic Director Dale Krynowek stating, “It was in the best interest of both teams to make sure that this game happened this weekend. The only place that was able to host it was at Avon Lake, so we flipped-flopped our home and away dates with North Ridgeville.”

As it stands, Avon Lake enters the game with a record of 3-7, including a 1-3 standing in the Southwestern Conference (SWC). The team recently faced a setback, losing to Olmsted Falls with a score of 62-52, which halted their brief two-game winning streak.

In contrast, North Ridgeville holds a record of 6-4, also positioned at 1-3 in the SWC. The team is coming off consecutive losses, having been defeated by Avon (59-46) and Berea-Midpark (63-46).

The varsity game is set to tip off at 19:00, with the junior varsity match beginning at 17:45, and the freshmen game at 16:30. The rematch between these teams is scheduled for February 6, 2026, which will take place at North Ridgeville.
