Plasmidsaurus has introduced an innovative RNA-Seq service designed for Illumina short read applications, streamlining gene expression analysis. This new offering was unveiled at the ASHG annual conference held in Boston, where attendees had the opportunity to engage with Plasmidsaurus scientists and preview new RNA-Seq analytics tools.

According to Mark Budde, co-founder and CEO of Plasmidsaurus, the service aims to eliminate the lengthy processes typically associated with transcriptomics. “Getting good transcriptomics data shouldn’t take weeks of hassle. Send us cells and we’ll get you answers,” Budde stated.

The advantages of Plasmidsaurus RNA-Seq extend to rapid RNA expression profiling. As noted, crude cell preparations can be transformed into fully analyzed data in as little as three days. Researchers can submit cultured cells in Zymo DNA/RNA Shield at room temperature through a network of drop-boxes, making the process more convenient. Notably, the service does not require expertise in bioinformatics, as customers can independently create and explore gene expression experiments directly on the results page.

The response from the scientific community has been positive. Molly Gasperini, associate director of genome engineering at the Allen Institute and an early access user of the service, praised its efficiency, stating, “Huge kudos to Plasmidsaurus for this incredibly fast, affordable service.”

Jim Stapleton, co-founder and CTO of Plasmidsaurus, expressed enthusiasm about the potential applications of the RNA-Seq service. “Every day we see how seamless sequencing services unlock new applications, better workflows, and accelerated science. We can’t wait to see what researchers can do with faster and more accessible RNA-Seq,” he remarked.

The RNA-Seq service is particularly beneficial for pharmaceutical and biotech companies that require swift feedback on drug candidates or genome editing projects. Additionally, it serves researchers needing rapid validation of cell line identity and health.

In recent months, Plasmidsaurus has expanded its offerings, launching an overnight microbiome amplicon sequencing service to enhance microbiology research. The company also introduced a fast, low-input AAV genome sequencing service aimed at accelerating gene therapy research and development. Furthermore, Plasmidsaurus recently opened its tenth global sequencing laboratory in Singapore, reinforcing its commitment to advancing genetic research capabilities.

As the demand for rapid and reliable genomic data increases, Plasmidsaurus is positioning itself as a leader in the field, providing essential tools that facilitate groundbreaking research in various scientific domains.
