Erlanger Appoints Mark Collier as New City Administrator

Mark Collier has been appointed as the new city administrator for Erlanger, Kentucky, effective September 1, 2024. This decision was made during a city council meeting held on Tuesday. Collier, who currently serves as the director of economic development for the City of Erlanger, will succeed Peter Glenn, who is retiring after a brief tenure as city administrator.
Collier’s appointment marks a significant transition for the city. He is one of the founding members of LINK nky, a digital media outlet that provides local news coverage. Prior to his role at LINK, Collier founded Fort Thomas Matters, which later merged with River City News to form LINK nky. His experience in media and economic development positions him well to lead the city in its future initiatives.
During his career, Collier has also served on the Fort Thomas City Council, beginning his term in 2018. This background in local governance, combined with his economic development expertise, is expected to enhance Erlanger’s strategic planning and community engagement efforts.
Glenn, who has held various roles within the city, including director of public works, took on the city administrator position in the summer of 2023. His retirement leaves a notable leadership gap that Collier will now fill. The city council expressed confidence in Collier’s ability to navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead for Erlanger.
As Collier prepares to take on his new responsibilities, residents and city officials alike look forward to his leadership style and vision for Erlanger’s future. The transition comes at a time when local governments are increasingly focused on economic resilience and community development, making Collier’s role vital for the city’s progress.
Erlanger is poised for a new chapter under Collier’s administration, and his background in both media and local governance may offer innovative approaches to the city’s challenges.
