Armitron Donates 50 Watches to Support Veterans’ Watchmaking Skills
On November 3, 2025, Armitron, a prominent American watch brand, announced a significant donation of 50 watches to the Veterans Watchmaker Initiative (VWI). This initiative, based in New York, is the only technical school in the United States dedicated to teaching disabled veterans the art of watchmaking. The donation marks a key moment in Armitron’s year-long campaign celebrating its 50th anniversary.
As part of its “Gives Back” campaign, Armitron is committed to donating 50 watches each month throughout 2025 to organizations that align with its core values of kindness, wellness, sustainability, and women’s empowerment. This particular donation aims to uplift veterans who are learning the craft of watchmaking, an endeavor that Armitron recognizes as a pathway for these individuals to reclaim their futures.
Celebrating Craftsmanship and Resilience
“VWI’s work is deeply meaningful to us as watchmakers and Americans,” stated Bobbie Weichselbaum, CEO of E. Gluck Corporation, which owns the Armitron brand. She highlighted the importance of the discipline and care inherent in watchmaking, qualities that veterans possess in abundance. “We’re proud to contribute to their journey,” Weichselbaum added, emphasizing the connection between the craft and the veterans’ experiences.
The Veterans Watchmaker Initiative, founded by fellow veterans, provides students with hands-on training and essential career skills. This education not only helps restore their confidence but also connects them to a proud tradition of craftsmanship. Sam Cannan, Chairman of the Veterans Watchmaker Initiative, remarked, “This contribution from Armitron is a meaningful boost for our students. It shows them that the watchmaking community stands behind their journey to heal, grow, and rebuild.”
A Commitment to Community Support
This donation is part of a broader commitment by Armitron to give back to the community during its anniversary year. As the brand celebrates its rich history, it seeks to make a positive impact by supporting organizations that work towards improving the lives of others. The initiative reflects Armitron’s dedication to fostering a culture of support and empowerment, particularly for those who have served their country.
Through these efforts, Armitron not only honors its legacy but also helps pave the way for veterans to develop new skills, find meaningful employment, and reintegrate into society. The donation to the Veterans Watchmaker Initiative exemplifies how corporate responsibility and community engagement can come together to create lasting change.
As the year progresses, Armitron’s ongoing donations will continue to spotlight the importance of technical education and support for veterans, ensuring that their contributions to society are recognized and valued.
