Pizzabilities Expands Mission with New Location in Santee

Pizzabilities, a pizza shop based in Alpine, California, is set to open its second location in Santee by early October 2025. This expansion comes just months after the successful launch of its first store, which opened in summer 2023. The new site aims to replicate the original’s mission of providing employment opportunities for individuals with special needs.
The Santee location will feature a casual, counter-service environment, allowing customers to build their own pizzas. The menu boasts a variety of options, including 10-inch pizzas starting at $12.95, with four crust choices, six sauces, and an array of toppings. Specialty pizzas such as Buffalo Chicken, Barbecue Chicken, and Sicilian Pepperoni will also be available. Additionally, guests can customize salads and enjoy sides like cheesy bread, brownies, and cookies.
Community and Inclusion at the Core
Founded by the Baker family, Pizzabilities was inspired by the experiences of their daughter, Grace Baker, who faced challenges in finding meaningful employment after high school. The company currently employs approximately 20 individuals at its Alpine site, nearly all of whom have special needs. Owners Josh Baker and Ron Burner are committed to creating a supportive workplace that fosters inclusion and diversity.
The original Alpine location has seen a positive response from the community, reinforcing the brand’s mission of offering “pizza with purpose.” The upcoming Santee store is expected to follow this model, focusing on building a welcoming environment that encourages individuals of all abilities to thrive.
Future Plans for Expansion
With plans to expand throughout San Diego County, Pizzabilities aims to open additional locations in the coming years. This growth strategy not only emphasizes the company’s commitment to quality food but also highlights its dedication to providing purposeful employment opportunities.
Pizzabilities has quickly established itself as a community-oriented business, merging delicious dining experiences with a strong social mission. As the company prepares to open its second location, it continues to champion the values of inclusion and opportunity, bringing its unique approach to more neighborhoods across the region.
