Pietro Beccari Takes Leadership Role at LVMH Fashion Group
Pietro Beccari, the current chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton, will expand his responsibilities to become the chairman and CEO of the LVMH Fashion Group starting on January 1, 2026. This transition follows the announcement that Sidney Toledano, who has held the position, has decided to step down from his operational role, as confirmed by LVMH in a press release.
In expressing gratitude towards Toledano, LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault remarked, “I would like to warmly thank Sidney Toledano, who has been by my side for over 30 years and has always been present, in all circumstances, with determination, talent, and loyalty.” Arnault also praised Beccari, calling him “a great leader and a unique talent with boundless energy,” and expressed confidence that he would bring valuable expertise to the LVMH Fashion Group.
Leadership Transition and Strategic Changes
As part of this leadership transition, Damien Bertrand, the deputy CEO of Louis Vuitton, will join the LVMH executive committee. Arnault highlighted the significant contributions Bertrand has made in recent months, indicating that Beccari will have additional support during this transition. The shift will also see a formal transition period as Beccari prepares to take over from Toledano, who has been instrumental in LVMH’s success.
Beccari’s promotion comes after a notable year for LVMH. In the previous year, it was announced that Michael Burke, Beccari’s predecessor at Louis Vuitton, was set to take over at the LVMH Fashion Group. However, plans shifted when Burke was appointed chairman and CEO of LVMH Americas, a new role aimed at enhancing the group’s presence in North and South America.
Beccari’s leadership at Louis Vuitton has been marked by a focus on innovative retail strategies. He has been credited with orchestrating the brand’s significant growth trajectory and has spearheaded initiatives such as the introduction of experiential retail environments in cities like Shanghai, Seoul, and Beijing. These flagship stores aim to attract younger consumers by merging luxury shopping with unique experiences.
Beccari’s Background and Vision
A native of Parma, Italy, Beccari began his career in international marketing with consumer goods giant Reckitt Benckiser in Milan. His diverse experience includes roles at Parmalat in New York and Henkel in Germany, where he honed his skills over a decade before joining Louis Vuitton in 2006. Initially, he served as the director of strategy and marketing coordination, progressively taking on more responsibilities, including overseeing various business units.
At Dior, Beccari has been influential in executing high-profile events and transforming the brand’s flagship store on Avenue Montaigne into a luxurious destination. His vision aligns with the evolving landscape of luxury retail, where experiential shopping is becoming increasingly paramount.
As Beccari prepares to take on the new role, LVMH anticipates that his leadership will continue to drive the fashion group towards further innovation and success while upholding the storied legacy of its brands.
