Raymond Joseph Archacki, a cherished member of the New Britain community, passed away peacefully at his home on August 20, 2025. He was 93 years old and had spent his entire life in New Britain, Connecticut. Archacki was the youngest son of Stanley and Bronislawa Archacki and was married for 65 years to his beloved wife, Barbara (Hrenko), who predeceased him in 2024.

He is survived by his son, Raymond Jr., and his wife, Paula; his son Michael and his partner, Linda Suski; along with his grandchildren, Raymond Archacki III and Lea (Archacki) Koehnken and her husband, Chris. Archacki also leaves behind two great-grandchildren, Shea and Jake, as well as his younger sister, Irene Jezewski, and sister-in-law, Dorothy Parker. Numerous nieces and nephews also mourn his passing. He was predeceased by his newborn twin sons, Gary and Gerald, and his siblings Eleanor Butkiewicz, Walter, Edward, Stanley, and Henry.

A Lifelong Career and Passion for Golf

Archacki graduated from New Britain High School and dedicated a significant portion of his career to Pratt & Whitney Aircraft. His work schedule changed to second shift in the 1970s, allowing him to rekindle his passion for golf. He regularly played at Stanley Golf Course, often before work and throughout the weekends.

Upon retiring in 1991, Archacki intensified his golfing pursuits, earning the affectionate nickname “Everyday Ray” among his friends and golfing partners. Known for his dedication, he played in all weather conditions and preferred walking the course instead of using a golf cart. He not only played with various individuals but also took the time to mentor younger players, imparting advice on both the game and life lessons.

In recognition of his contributions to the golfing community, Mayor Erin Stewart of New Britain honored Archacki on his 90th birthday with a certificate designating him as the “honorary mayor” of Stanley Golf Course, a title he deeply cherished.
