Medina Council Honors Paul Rose for 16 Years of Service
During a heartfelt farewell on December 8, 2023, the Medina City Council bid adieu to Paul Rose, who has dedicated 16 years to public service as a council member. Rose reflected on his tenure, expressing no regrets and a sense of accomplishment regarding the city’s progress.
Accomplishments and Legacy
In his final address, Rose stated, “It has been an honor and privilege to serve as a council representative for the past 16 years.” He emphasized his belief in leaving the community in a better state than he found it, noting the significant economic growth and enhanced services Medina has experienced during his time in office.
Among his proudest achievements are the establishment of both the emerging technology committee and the emerging technology advisory committee. Rose highlighted his campaign promise to diversify the city’s revenue sources, specifically mentioning the introduction of a lodging tax linked to a hotel project. “This funding will be used to help with work around the square,” he explained.
Acknowledgments and Future Endeavors
As he prepared to step down, Rose expressed gratitude to his fellow council members and the city’s administration. “To the residents who voted for me, thank you and I hope I exceeded your expectations,” he stated. His remarks resonated with council colleagues, who recognized his unwavering commitment to the community.
Nino Piccoli, the Service Director, commended Rose, saying, “You always had the best interest of your constituents at heart.” Ed Kinney, Police Chief, added, “You have always been a big supporter of the police department.” Kimberly Marshall, Economic Development Director, also praised Rose’s dedication, remarking, “I know you’re a patriot and it’s been a pleasure working with you.”
As Rose transitions to the next chapter of his life, he looks forward to engaging with the community from a new perspective. His legacy of service, marked by collaboration and innovation, will be remembered by the residents of Medina and his fellow council members.
