Lewisville Partners with Groundwork Outreach for Child Care Survey
Residents of Lewisville, Texas, may soon experience an enhancement in child care services due to a new initiative between the City of Lewisville and the nonprofit organization, Groundwork Outreach. This partnership aims to identify child care needs in the community through a comprehensive survey, as outlined in the city’s official press release.
The initiative is supported by a grant from the International City/County Managers Association’s Economic Mobility and Opportunity Cohort. It is designed to gather valuable insights from families regarding their child care requirements. Starting on November 4, 2023, representatives from Groundwork Outreach will begin canvassing the 75057 neighborhoods, engaging directly with residents until December 15, 2023. The goal is to collect data that will inform future policy changes and improve child care services in the area.
Lewisville has a population of approximately 16,800 residents, spread across 6,600 households. The data collected during this survey is expected to play a critical role in shaping future child care programs. Marie Appel, Founder of Groundwork Outreach, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “Child care is a cornerstone for family stability and community growth.”
The city is committed to actively engaging with its residents on issues that significantly impact their lives. Ashleigh Feryan, Assistant Director of the Department of Neighborhood Services & Inspection Services, expressed the city’s enthusiasm for this partnership, stating, “We are excited to partner with Groundwork Outreach to reach families directly in their own neighborhoods and in their own voices.”
By conducting this survey, the City of Lewisville seeks to ensure that the voices of families are heard and that their needs are addressed effectively. The collaboration with Groundwork Outreach reflects a proactive effort to enhance child care services and support the community’s development.
